Join the Dialogue Sessions on "The Potential for Socio-Labour Inclusion Linked to the Just Green Transition in Europe"

News
10MIN

The European Network of Innovation for Inclusion and Action Against Hunger invite you to join a series of dialogue sessions exploring how the systemic challenge of a Just Green Transition can create new opportunities for socio-labour inclusion, while also generating new risks and forms of vulnerability for people in vulnerable situations.

The green transition is transforming key sectors such as energy, construction, transport, agriculture, industry and the circular economy. This transformation is creating new opportunities for employment, training, innovation and inclusion, but it may also generate new barriers and forms of exclusion, particularly for people who face greater difficulties in accessing training and the emerging jobs linked to the green economy.

In this context, the European Union has placed the principle of a Just Transition at the heart of its policies, promoting measures related to upskilling and reskilling, green employment, energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, and support for the people, groups and territories most affected by the transition.

A space for dialogue and exchange

The dialogue sessions will provide a space for organisations working with people and groups at risk of social exclusion to share their experiences, identify challenges and explore opportunities for action.

Among other questions, we will discuss:

  • What opportunities does the Green Transition offer to advance socio-labour inclusion?
  • Can the green economy become a driver of employment and inclusion for people in vulnerable situations?
  • What new forms of vulnerability or exclusion could emerge as a result of the transition?
  • Which groups may face the greatest barriers, and how can we ensure that no one is left behind?
  • What can be done to ensure that food security is safeguarded throughout the transition?

To ensure that we can hear and reflect the perspectives of organisations working at different levels, we have organised two dialogue sessions on different dates: one specifically aimed at organisations only in Spain and another for organisations across the rest of Europe.

The launch of the second cycle of the Social Innovation Labs

These dialogue sessions will also mark the launch of the second cycle of the Social Innovation Labs, organised by the European Network of Innovation for Inclusion.

The Social Innovation Labs offer organisations from across Europe the opportunity to develop, test and strengthen innovative solutions to social inclusion challenges. As part of this process, participating organisations will have the opportunity to access up to €5,000 to transfer their innovation to another organisation or context, and up to €13,000 to replicate an existing social innovation in a new context.

The dialogue sessions are therefore an important first step in identifying the challenges and opportunities linked to the Just Green Transition and ensuring that the second cycle of the Labs responds to the real needs and experiences of organisations working on the ground.

Participants will also have the opportunity to hear from organisations that took part in the first cycle of the Social Innovation Labs and learn about their experiences, the innovations they developed and the lessons they gained throughout the process.

Join the dialogue

The transition towards a greener and more sustainable Europe is already reshaping our economies and labour markets. Ensuring that this transformation is also fair, inclusive and socially just requires the voices and experiences of organisations working with people in vulnerable situations to be heard.

We invite you to join us, share your experience and contribute to the discussion on how the green transition can become an opportunity for greater social and labour inclusion across Europe.

We look forward to seeing you at the Dialogue Sessions!
